So this first week in Boston was really great! Walden Media is doing some good things and I'm excited to be a part of it all. I got to help at the "Ramona and Beezus" movie premiere which was super fun and the film was adorable! I loved reading Beverly Cleary's books when I was young and still now, so it was very satisfying to see a well done film adaptation that can relate to a wide audience today. It makes me excited to see it with my sister Eden! Also on the list of good things is Walden's first documentary, "Waiting for Superman." This documentary strongly promotes children's education, so the cool thing with this is that every time someone visits their website and clicks to see the film, First Book will donate 5 books to a child. So if anyone is even reading this, I'd encourage you to be a "Superman" and give a child 5 books for FREE!
Then, if being a part of all of that here wasn't neat enough, an awesome surprise happened this weekend that actually began back in Provo... I was the Production Coordinator at the Harold B. Lee Library Multimedia Production Unit at BYU. As part of this unit, our crew collaborates to create campus promotional videos. Our latest edition for the library is a parody of the popular "Old Spice" commercial which we have called "New Spice", featuring my friend and stand-up comedian, Stephen Jones. It was posted Friday and we can't believe this video's success on YouTube,CNN, CBS, Facebook etc. I was the Casting Director, 1st Assistant Director and Craft Services on "New Spice." What an opportune time for me just after graduation because hey, you never know, maybe this could be the kickstart to my next job! Check out our "New Spice" blog!
